Meet the founders
Darroll Shepherd
As a consultant working at a senior management level within the Private and Public sectors Darroll has applied his wealth of experience in process management and methodology.
Having seen the difficulty his mother had experienced in finding cost effective and local support for help around the house, the concept of a community support platform began to develop. He says, ‘the opportunities for the community to engage in a positive and beneficial manner are unlimited through the taskm8 platform’.
He and his partner love spending time with their ever growing number of animals.
Craig Hibbert
Craig Hibbert spent some 25 years in the European logistics market at Group Director levels, where he was instrumental in the launch and development of the business into 14 European countries.
As an active Lay Minister in the Church of England, Craig is passionate about supporting those within our communities who are marginalised or disadvantaged and sees taskm8 as a perfect platform to achieve this.
Craig is married with four grown up children and enjoys relaxing by the lake with a trusty fishing rod.
Our story
From a discussion relating to the struggles of son at university and the associated financial struggles common to most students; and the needs of an elderly parent needing practical support, the initial concept of taskm8 was born.
The realisation that there are many people experiencing a wide range of difficulties led us to the question, ‘How could we provide support for others with similar needs?’
Our communities are full of people in need and they are also full of people who can provide the needed support.
From this realisation our philosophy has grown to the point where we now see that by bringing communities together we can capture this relatively untapped resource and provide community support from within that community at a manageable cost.
Whether it be help with unskilled tasks, companionship or charity engagement, our Mission is fundamentally to link people who need help to other people who have the time and the skills to provide that help; and by doing this we will simply make life easier.
